Santon Out, Gutierrez & Taylor Not 100% For City Game

Newcastle United have a fresh injury crisis ahead of their opening game of the season, with several key players struggling to be fit in time. It was confirmed earlier today that Davide Santon will miss the game against Manchester City on Monday night due to lack of fitness, whilst Steven Taylor sat out of training yesterday but “should” be ok.

Manager Alan Pardew has confirmed that Jonas Gutierrez is suffering with a strain but again should be ok, whilst Massaido Haidara has missed all of pre-season with an injury and Loic Remy was signed injured.

The list of injuries is not dissimilar to that which plagued Newcastle’s season last year, when they frequently had the highest number of injuries to contend with throughout the season.

Ryan Taylor is also out for most of the season with his ACL injury.

A full match preview will be published tomorrow, with Paul Dummett looking closer to getting his first Premier League start,  but its concerning that so many players are not 100% fit for the opening game.

Wasn't it just days ago the fitness of the squad was brought up as the main positive from pre-season?

What is the point of listening to any of them anymore?

Its all bull anyway.

Nothing will change until the people/person in charge is no longer around, it will just be spin and waffle.
