Arsenal To Up Bid For Cabaye

When Alan Pardew dropped Cabaye for today's game against Manchester City it was clear that it was done to keep the player safe. Reports stating that Arsenal are working on an improved offer for the midfielder appear to confirm that this is the case. Newcastle rejected a £10million bid for the 27 year old earlier today and Pardew was visibly angry in his pre-match interview this evening.
Pardew told Sky Sports;
"Well to be honest we want to focus on what's important for Newcastle tonight, our fans, to get a result here.
I can confirm we've had a bid for Yohan Cabaye we don't think is acceptable. I have to pick a team for tonight's game.
I've picked a team which I think can get a result here. The rights and wrongs of that bid other people can make their own opinion I can tell you what I think of the bid anyway.."
The same channel are now reporting that Arsenal are intending to come back with an improved offer. It is thought that Mike Ashley would be willing to sell the French International for around £20million.
Other reports suggest that Cabaye did travel to Manchester but then returned to the North East on the back of the bid and has asked the club to allow him to speak to Arsenal.

Grand then we can keep him
Arsenal could do with a strong enforcer, like Tiote (but taller!) really. They have enough creative players.
If they wanted (and planned better); they could have had Wanyama for £12m or Fellaini for £24m before his minimum fee clause expired. Cabaye for £10m is a farce.
If you ask me; either he's looking for a long term replacement for Arteta or he's not serious about signing Cabaye.
They must be on drugs.
Taylor is the first to bang on in the papers about this and that and wanting to be the future captain. Lets hope Mbiawa keeps him out from now on as Dummet should get a run at left back. Mbiawa was daft for getting his booking at the same time.
Debauchy's booking was terrible as well. He needs to buck his ideas up as he has been poor since he came in. Early days or the lad but that and the likes of his sending off last season is showing something I dont like. Terrible for Nasri's goal as well.
I thought debuchy did ok still not the level I expect from him and would have said colo was at fault for nasri's goal not debuchy
