C1C: Match Preview/Stats/Thread: Morecambe v Newcastle Utd

Newcastle United travel to the Globe Arena tomorrow evening where they face Morecambe in the 2nd round of the Capital One Cup. The game which is live on television is a sell out with Newcastle buying up their 1800 allocation at the 6500 seat stadium making it a record attendance.
Newcastle United manager Alan Pardew has once again left Yohan Cabaye out of the squad as the club continue to deal with the on-going speculation of him leaving, whilst Steven Taylor is suspended and Jonas Gutierrez (hamstring), Mike Williamson (knock), Chiek Tiote (groin), Massadio Haidara (knee) and Loic Remy (calf/shin) are all unavailable through injury.
For Morecambe, Andrew Wright returns from suspension and Barry Roche (bug), Kevin Ellison (hamstring) and Marcus Marshall (hamstring), who returned at the weekend are expected to play.
Jack Redshaw (hip) is not available.
Fact: This is the first game ever between these two sides.
Fact: Newcastle have won their last 6 second round games and scored 18 goals.

Got to say, Sammy impressed me this evening.
I think he may have done enough to have edged ahead of Gouffran in the pecking order - I'd like to see him play in the first team with Ben Arfa on the opposite side...

Sammy certainly took the opportunity to show what he can do although it was against a team 3 leagues below us.
Bigi was good and so was Dummett.
I think Vuckic could do with being loaned out for a season where he's going to get regular first team football
Gosling had his best game for us, lets hope he can keep this up
After last nights performance should Good be ahead of Williamson in the pecking order

That's the best I've seen Sammy Ameobi play but as mental said look at the opposition.

I'm just hoping that the players remember where the goal is on Saturday now they finally found it , been to long since I last witnessed one and its a long journey home when we haven't at least scored
