Pardew Blames Inconsistency As A Team For Defeat

Newcastle United manager Alan Pardew has slammed his side's inconsistency as a team, something the fans have spent the last 2 seasons doing. Newcastle went into half time 2-1 up but conceded twice in the second half and failed to find the back of the net for a third time themselves. In his post match interview Pardew said;

"We seemed to drop down a gear today. In the end there were too many opportunities for Hull, we have to tighten up, and find the consistency of performance that we are searching for.

I have to pay tribute to Hull, they did a lot of things very well today.

We had a chance to pinch a point but it just fell to Loic Remy a bit quick, but you can't take anything away from Hull, they deserve the plaudits.

We have to regroup and make sure we're ready for the next one."

In a seperate interview he added;

"We weren't tight enough as a team, we were loose today and Hull exploited  those spaces. It's the consistency of performance that this team is searching for.

The team that finished fifth, you can see similarities in this team, but  that team had a consistency in performance as a team, not as individuals.

Today the formation was the same, the set-up was the same but we looked not  the same.

We were too loose and gifted them goals and you can’t do that against any  opposition and Hull, I'll be the first to pay tribute to them because they  played very well, but for us it is a really disappointing day."
