C1C: 4th Round - Newcastle Utd v Manchester City
By Tyne-Talk
September 25 2013
Newcastle United will host Manchester City in the fourth round of the Capital One Cup the week beginning the 28th October 2013. Any game would have been a big game with Chelsea, Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspurs all in the draw, but the game against Manchester City will fall between the Sunderland Newcastle derby and a fixture against Chelsea with games against Liverpool and Spurs either side. There will be no let up that week for Alan Pardew and his players.
West Brom or Arsenal (depending on extra time and penalties) will face Chelsea, whilst Manchester United have Norwich.

There's a slim chance that City will be resigned to field a weakened side as they try to climb to the top of the Premiership.
Even then, the pressure will all be on Man City, playing away from home against a side which they were so convincing against at the start of the season...depending on if/which kids they play, there might be a few mistakes to pounce on.
I know, optimistic but it's the only chance I can see us winning.

I'm more optimistic now that Man C were beaten by Aston Villa. You are probably right NTS that Man C will be keeping there best players for the premiership.

Don't forget Cardiff too!
Then again a number of their second string / reserves are better than our first string (particularly up front).
