Riddle Of Captain Colo Who Just Didn't Fancy The LFC Game?

Newcastle United Captain Fabricio Coloccini was last week said to be back in Argentina nursing a groin injury, but is this week almost fit to play. The 31 year old sustained the groin injury whilst on International duty for Argentina but was, just four days ago reported to have returned to his home country to recuperate. 

The Journal reported that the club had given him permission to return and Alan Pardew confirmed he would not be available for tomorrow’s game against Sunderland.

Colo missed the 2-2 draw against Liverpool on the 19th October after being sent home by Argentina on the 14th October with a muscle strain (FA statement). He was apparently returning on the 22nd October with reports in some papers suggesting he could be out up till Christmas.

Pardew is, today, quoted by Sky Sports as saying that he let Captain Colo stay in Argentina for another four or five days where he worked with the National team. Now, if he didn’t even come back for the Liverpool game, how could he have been returning to Argentina after it to recover?

Magically today Coloccini is apparently back in England (or never left, who knows!) and could be in contention for tomorrow’s game against Sunderland.

Now we can only assume this is a ploy by Pardew to throw the opposition because the version of events clearly doesn’t add up, unless Coloccini just didn’t fancy the Liverpool game last weekend?*

 

 

 

*It is noted that he is obviously far too professional for this to actually be the case.

more than likely the journal got it wrong and he stayed in Argentina, if he was there anyway and unavailable for the liverpool match then i could see the club telling him to stay and spend some time with his family, having said that he could have just made up a groin strain to get some extra time with his family.

If he was injured then i wouldn't risk him against sunderland and give him extra time to recover
