Player Profile: Remy Cabella

Newcastle United are rumoured to have joined the chase for Montpellier midfielder Remy Cabella, with The Chronicle reporting that they have enquired. The 23 year old who came through the ranks at the French club has already caught the eye of Manchester United this season. Louis Nicollin, the club president of Montpellier is prepared to sell the influential player for around £14million.
Back in November, when it became clear David Moyes was interested in his player he said;
"If they give us 17 million euros, we'll see. We have a deal with him that he leaves in June, not January. But everything can be negotiated, particularly with such a good little one."
This was after the Head Coach Jean Fernandez, said
“If during the winter transfer window Manchester United offer 18 million euros, as I feel they will, he'll go. Even if it risks killing the team, we can't say no."
Cabella’s response to the speculation was;
"A departure can always happen in either January or next summer -- of course you think about it.
But I belong to a team, and for the moment I'm 100 percent focused on Montpellier. It's still too soon to talk about it."

£14million was quoted last year for the player but montpellier need money and quick so a reduced offer would probably be successful, any deal would also reportedly involve a player exchange with Obertan the most likely player to go.
