Player Profile: Johnny Heitinga - West Ham Claim NUFC Hijack

Jack Sullivan, son of West Ham Chairman David Sullivan has taken to Twitter to announce that Newcastle United have hijacked their deal for Everton defender Johnny Heitinga. Yesterday the 30 year old seemed to be on his way from Goodison Park but today Sullivan tweeted “SADLY HEITINGA will not be joining us. We think he’s chosen Newcastle ahead of us”.
Despite a deal having been agreed between Everton and West Ham Heitinga, who hasn’t played a game in the Premier League this season and has since been dropped by the International team, has been quoted as saying;
"At my age it is important to make the right choices. It is not just about money, because that was not a problem with West Ham. You must be convinced that you make a right step.
The interest is there, so I'm confident that I can find another club before January 31. I want to play every game again, because I still have a huge appetite for the game. I am fit and as a footballer in the prime of my life."
