Newcastle United have rejected a £14million bid for midfielder Yohan Cabaye from French side Paris Saint Germain. The 28 year old has been subject to much specualtion this week as PSG's Laurent Blanc repeatedly discussed the possiblity of a bid.
Earlier this week Blanc said;
"Miralem Pjanic could be a good alternative to Cabaye. Their profiles are good and they are both targets for PSG.
It would be good to recruit a player in the heart of the game, to have an extra player in midfield. We need a player who has the same mentality as the others when they are playing or on the bench.
He must love to play. He must be technically good and be tough, and whether this player comes or does not come, there will be competition in all positions. I've been saying for a month and a half - and the injury to Adrien makes it more urgent - that we need an extra player in midfield."
On Cabaye, Blanc said:
"I ask myself. I know the man. He has that character, but there are others. We are very happy with this team, but with all the competitions in which we are engaged we must be aware there will be issues, as we have seen with Adrien Rabiot."
Cabaye joined Newcastle in 2011 and was subject to a £10million bid from Arsenal last summer. He is also reportedly a target for Manchester United manager David Moyes who is desperate to rescue the clubs worst start to a Premier League season in 25 years.

Cabaye told the BBC earlier this month;
“For me to go to Paris or another club, there is nothing. I just want to be focused on the next game, Man City.
I think it’s hard for every player. It depends what the player wants - if he wants to leave or if he wants to stay. So there is every time speculation about the transfer, even in January.
So it’s hard for the player, the club and the fans, for everybody. It is not a good period for everybody. We just have to stay away from that speculation and stay focused on our job and my job especially.
Nothing is happening for me. When you know what you want it is easier.”

As thing stand I personally thin cabaye is better, so what should we be really talking 40 maybe. Not that well get it, or actually spend it on the team, but it's worth a thought.
