Cabaye Deal Agreed Between NUFC and PSG

Newcastle United are reported to have come to an agreement in principle with Paris Saint Germain for the sale of midfielder Yohan Cabaye. Sky Sports News who have been reporting that the clubs have been in negotiations all day are now saying that a deal has been agreed which is "significantly higher" than the original bid of £14million. It is thought to be in the region of 25million.
Newcastle United manager Alan Pardew said earlier today that he was not confident of keeping the French international. He was also quoted saying that the club would expect any interested party to match their valuation. It would seem that this is now the case.
“We know there’s a club interested in him, and they’re a very wealthy club and a powerful club. We’re doing our best to protect Newcastle. He’s worth more than £14million, but the conversations are going above me at owner level.
We’ve informed the club concerned that we need time to sign a replacement and we’re very conscious of that. There’s a price tag on everybody’s head, and it needs to be the right price that works for this club.
I’d be foolish if I didn’t have a plan to deal with him going. We have. But until such time that a deal is agreed, we can’t put a bid of our own in. You’re talking to someone who lost Andy Carroll with about eight hours to go, so am I confident? No.
He’s a vital cog in our system. I think that has boosted his profile and his valuation. Will he get that role at a different club? I don’t know.
The timing is unfortunate, but we are vulnerable. If you’re going to bring players to a club like this and you’re saying to them that you want to break into Champions League football, you will attract better players like that, but you’re more likely to lose them if you’re not in the Champions League."
The 28 year old who will now meet with Paris St Germain in France tomorrow to discuss personal terms and complete a medical was valued at about £20million by Newcastle. There has been no official confirmation from either club at this time.

Fair play to him but there are no guarantees that this wont end up like so many players that leave us......bad for their playing careers. Saying that, he will probably be trebling his wages.
As Mental says, maybe HBA will get more chances through the middle. It will be good for Anita even though I dont see him as an attacking mid.

I fear for Newcastle if we have to depend on HBA.
His flashes of brilliance are so rare as to be notable, his general play is lazy and apathetic.
The best deal Newcastle could have made by selling Cabaye to PSG was to throw in HBA for free.

I think this is hba's biggest chance I can see him starting there with anita and tiote sitting behind covering his defensive duties, whever he takes the opportunity or not is a different matter and if he doesn't then I can see him leaving in the summer.
Somebody who hasn't been mentioned is marveaux I've often thought this would be his best position
Anyway, as it is not actually the last day, we could bring in a replacement, you never know.
Marveaux is like HBA he doesn't defend as much as pardew would like him to and so he doesn't use him. Plus he uses him on the wing and i dont think thats his best position,
