Player Profile: NUFC Target Filip Djuricic

Newcastle United are reported to be eying up Benfica midfielder Filip Djuricic. The 22 year old moved to Benfica last summer for €6million but is seen as the cheaper option to Clement Grenier who has indicated that he would rather wait until the summer before leaving Lyon.
The Serbian International who was previously at Heerenveen was influential with his goals before his move to Portugal scoring 9 in 19 appearances last season. He is apparently unhappy at being used as a second striker rather than his preferred position in midfield.
Djuricic’s agent Ulisses Santos was quoted confirming Newcastle’s interest. He said;
“It is true about Newcastle, I have been speaking with Alan Pardew this week and so let us see what happens by the end of tomorrow (Friday).”
