Congratulations, it has now been over a year, since you bought anyone. You must be delighted, I picture your eyes twinkling with glee, over working out the loan system. ‘Hey’, you must of thought, ‘you mean I can spend even less?’
Congratulations must be offered as well because, despite having almost 6 months of knowing our best player was off, you manfully resisted the temptation to do anything about it.
Further congratulations, for brining in a director of football, who I can only imagine must be a very good drinking buddy, because, your happiness, is all that matters to me.
Honestly it’s what I think all the time, if I am about to do something bad I think, ‘oh no what would St. Ashley do?’
And a very special mention must be made for your contribution to the derby, watching my side get ripped to pieces, by our neighbour’s, will live long in the memory.
I really must thank you, for not investing, any of the money you received from the premier league and of course the Cabaye sale, a combined 80 million, thank you really from the very bottom of my heart, had you broken down and say bought even 2 decent players, I would not have been able to enjoy Saturday quite as much.
And I do have to compliment you on that delightful, free advertising you have all over the stadium, and your ability to carry on regardless.
Well done Mr. Ashley, you are doing a splendid job, feel free to go and do it to some other club, I feel we have kept you too long.

Has anyone ever eaten humble pie that instead of the predicted 'Leeds', Newcastle responded to their 2009 relegation by 3 years later finishing 5th in the Prem on a shoestring budget? No, they haven't, and it's very strange because in 2009 almost everyone was predicting that Newcastle would indeed, do a Leeds.

Nick. Im sorry to say, but you keep bringing up our very good finish, when we finished 5th in the league.
I was happy, and to say the least, a bit surprised how good we played.
BUT - every team should try to get better every season. Try a little bit harder. Try to find way to get better. Try to invest in the areas of the pitch that need strengthening.
Can you honestly say that we have done that? Do you really believe that we have a chance of finishing the league and go to Europe next year?
Im not saying I expect us to win the PL. I dont even think that we should be able to compete for top 4-5, but I expect us to try and do our best.
Selling Cabaye, for me, was not a mistake. We got good money for him, and he was ready to leave. Maybe we could have gotten better money in the summer transfer window, but maybe they they would be lower. That the chance you take, thats part of football.
Players leave, and new arrive...... Well... Hmm - players leave is all at Newcastle..
The thing that Im really disappointed about, is, that we had no one lined up, when he was sold. It wasnt hardly a surprise that he would be sold, it was more of a surprise, that it didnt happened in the summer.
We have had ½ year to find someone to replace him, or at least scout some players who could improve our team. I dont mind selling on of our best players, if that means, that the team all around will be stronger, but that never happened.
For me, it seems that Ashley is thinking short termed. Seems like he get surprised every time that we sell a player, even though he think of us as feeder club. IF we are to be a feeder club, at least for the next couple of years, being a successful feeder club, you need to have the next player ready when you sell you best.
For now, thats not the case.

Yes, every team should try to(!!!!!!!) do a bit better every season. There is a difference between saying they should TRY TO and demanding them to do it.
We progressively improved (dramatically) for 3 seaons running, after getting relegated, instead of doing a Leeds.
I'll listen to people who are prepared to admit it when they got something totally wrong - almost every fan in the country (Toon fans too) got it wrong in their predictions after the relegation season. It was a 3-year lsting bounce back.

Your continual re-writing of history to your benefit does you no credit, you have fans of 30 years not even contemplating a season ticket next year.
You have the lowest ever shirt sales (now 16.49 and they still can't shift them)

Nick; I wasnt one of those fearing that the relegation would make us do a Leeds. Rather I was thinking that it was a nice opportunity to get some of the old overpaid "stars" shipped on, and start building on the young quality we had, giving them extra time, to get used to the tempo.
I would have given it a year in championsship before promotion, but our young talents surprised me, and we went straight up.
I would think that the promotion was a result of good scouting for years, rather than good leadership in the club. How many of the youngsters was recruited by Mike Ashley, and how many was from before he bought the club??

Getting promoted for Newcastle shouldn't require brilliant scouting. We only just got relegated (a lot of people forget that) so it was perfectly natural for us to hope for promotion as soon as possible. Losing players is what always happens when teams get relegated.
Good scouting really started under Ashley. He appointed Graham Carr, and of course gets no credit for it. Freddie Shepherd threw money away on overpayed bloaters.

Who said anything about 1 right? And as for your last sentence, it's too ridiculous just to say that everything bad happened was Ashley's fault, but nothing good that happened is due to Ashley.
I look at the whole 7 years, and I believe we are under a much better state than when Ashley first came. You don't have to agree, and if you don't, then please boycott.
