Newcastle United striker Shola Ameobi is becoming increasingly frustrated with his role on the bench for the club. Shola, who has warmed the bench for much of his Newcastle United career is currently behind, Loic Remy, Papiss Cisse and Luuk De-Jong in the pecking order.
Shola has always been the striker at Newcastle to be used in a crisis and readily replaced with other options when they are available. The 32year old has started just 10 games this season and is out of contract in June.
With 9 games left he told the Gazette;
"It's frustrating for me, but I just have to bide my time. I've loved my time in Newcastle, no more so than when I'm playing. I just want to help the team. When that doesn't happen, it's frustrating.
I know the manager picks a team he thinks can win. We have to respect that as a player, but it doesn't stop it being frustrating.
Hopefully, I can help us in these last nine games and get us as high as we can."
