Newcastle United host Manchester United this weekend on the back of two humiliating defeats. Pardews side have lost three and won three of their last six games, whilst Manchester United travel on the back of three wins, two defeats and a draw from their last six games in all competitions.
The words “nothing to play for” have been bandied around all week after Newcastle effectively failed to turn up at St Mary’s last weekend, but that attitude will get them no-where having fallen into 9th in the League with Stoke City just 6 points behind in 10th.
Newcastle have even more injury problems, with Moussa Sissoko picking up a hamstring injury against Saints at the weekend. His problem adds to the injury list which is currently made up of Tim Krul (shoulder), Sammy Ameobi (knee), Mathieu Debuchy (groin) and Loic Remy (calf).
David Moyes could give Pardew some hope by resting the likes of Wayne Rooney, Danny Welbeck and Michael Carrick but have Juan Mata, Ashley Young and Adnan Januzaj all fighting for a starting place.
Rafael is expected to return and Patrice Evra is back after suspension.
Both Chris Smalling (hamstring) and Jonny Evans (calf) has resumed training but Robin van Persie (knee) is still unavailable.
This season has been a tough one for Moyes, with banners being flown over the stadium mid game after their 10th League defeat. Whilst the team won their last League game and drew in midweek they are a team which can be beaten. Newcastle however, against Southampton looked like a team which didn’t have a clue, therefore an 11th League defeat for Manchester United would come as a huge shock to the Reds.
That said it was also a bit of a shock earlier this season when Newcastle beat them at Old Trafford for the first time since 1972!
Fact: Newcastle have conceded seven goals in their last two league games but have failed to score themselves.
Fact: Manchester United have the best away record in the Premier League, earning 30 points from a possible 48.
Fact: A win for Newcastle would see them complete the league double over Manchester United for the first time since the 1930-31 season.

Was a bit surprised that |MOTD despite Saints 4 goals still had the game near the end,
I expect the full highlights will be first tonight
because its Manchester UtdEvra has gone down injured but recovered.
How many more can be rule out...
This has been pitiful to watch.
Dreadful performance by Newcastle. Again!
We are going to struggle relying on players like gosling and we've had no leadership on the pitch since colo came back, his heads away from the club now and we should let him leave.
In the summer we need to spend big on a new central defender and preferably someone whocan take on the captaincy
