Newcastle United travel to Stoke City tomorrow with Stoke just behind them in the Premier League table. Newcastle go into the game on the back of three consecutive, heavy, defeats and four defeats, two wins from their last six games. Stoke host on the back of a defeat against Chelsea, three wins and a draw.
Stoke manager Mark Hughes will be pleased to hear that Loic Remy is unlikely to play for Newcastle, with Newcastle having won just one since he got injured. Newcastle have lost 8 of the 10 games they have played this season without the QPR loanee and scored just once in his absence.
Tim Krul (knee) could return tomorrow but joining Remy (calf) on the sidelines are Mathieu Debuchy (groin) and Moussa Sissoko (hamstring).
Stoke are expected to play Charlie Adams, despite breaking his nose in training this week. Stephen Ireland (illness) could also return but Oussama Assssaidi (knee) and Robert Huth (knee) are both likely to miss the rest of the season.
Since Newcastle beat Stoke 5-1 earlier this season they have lost 10 of their 15 games. The performances from Newcastle have been shocking, to the point the fans almost expect no passion on the pitch from the players regardless of whether they are playing home or away.
Newcastle’s aim this season was to finish as a top 10 team but their recent displays have jeopardised their advantage and both Stoke and West Ham behind them are catching up.
Fact: They have failed to score in 11 of their last 15 league games.
Fact: Stoke have lost just two matches at home this season (versus Norwich and Liverpool).

The thing is though when he plays shola with cisse they play as a front two, when De Jong plays they play him deeper as a number 10 almost, why not try him up front as an out and out striker
Yet more square pegs in round holes today and completely baffling line up/formation
Surely the pardew apologists are starting to lose patience with him now ?
He has even come out blaming the local press ! I didn't realise they picked the side considering it would be hard as they are all banned
The lies and bull @#$%& are what really bother me most of all if he came out honestly and said the players have lost intrest since the sale of cabaye and just want the season over with and it's difficult to mobilize them then I'd say fair enough not happy about it but what can you do
And I can't see the point in playing players set for release like ameobi and gosling when we could be giving experience and a chance to shine like Armstrong and bigirimana let's face it it couldn't make our performances any worse and there would be no pressure to perform given our recent results nobody's expecting much
i said a few weeks ago about using players who we are keeping rather than players we know are leaving, i believe bigi is injured and to be honest with the mentality of the first team players at the minute i don't think it'll do Armstrong any good putting him in amongst that.
Why ? There in a no lose situation Let's face it players such as Campbell and Armstrong need to get a feel for the game , and if pardew said to just go and get experience and play without pressure it could do them good
There's no pressure on them to perform straight away as it's not as if there taking a place from a prolific goal scorer , or sadly the place of anyone likely to score
What have cisse and ameobi got ? 3 goals between them the whole season
I would rather watch them with the hope(not expectation) than watch a confidence stripped cisse and out of his depth ameobi
Ameobi has been a loyal servant but bless him never prem standard and cisse is just not gotta get a break from his troubles this season so why persist with playing them
Oh and another thing is pardew slowly morphing into our old pal uncle joe @#$%& in kinnear ? He's put our recent form and hammerings down to the local press (uncle joe loved a ruck with them) and having ten senior players out injured , whilst granted we do have a few injuries 10 is a huge exaggeration considering if we had anywhere near that amount we would probably have to forfeit due to being unable to put enough players on the field as our squad is so small
Whilst I never wish to see us lose I can't see us getting another point this season , my only hope is west ham or palace go on a bit of a run and we finish 11th as I don't think pardew with his@#$%&exscuses and the majority of players with there gutless performances deserve a bonus for their showing in 2014
