Nice easy start then!
New season

New season, same problems, the first game of the season has been announced against mega rich Manchester City, a side I sort of half supported in the closing days of last season (I was desperate for Liverpool not to win, and thus avoiding all the talk of their history, which the rest of the country I believe is vapidly bored of.)
It would be nice to think they could reward this admittedly very slender effort of support, by not starting well and giving us an unexpected win.
Very close to Christmas comes the Mackems and hopefully a chance for Pardew and co. to pull their fingers out and actually win a derby, it’s been a while and for those of us that have Mackem supporting friends, it would be nice to be texting them abuse for a change.
As the song goes of course ‘Santa is a Geordie’.
At last a home game on the final day of the season, perhaps it’s simply my imagination but we always seem to be away, hopefully we will have something to celebrate, avoiding relegation for instance.
So it seems real now, fixtures are out; next season is going to happen. We will certainly have a couple of new players, with hopefully more to follow.
And there is always new Pardew excuses to look forward to, has he used ‘it was the wrong sort of grass’ yet?
Ashley will attempt to re-name the entire city, our best player (assuming we have one) will be sold in January, 4 million 300 thousand and 22 players will just about fail to be brought over this bloody line (perhaps we should move the line a bit, it appears to be causing all sorts of bother).
I can’t wait.
