So the move to Liverpool for ex loan star Loic Remy has fallen through and suddenly we are being touted as favourites for his signature.
The exact reason has not been officially stated with Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers stating: “It’s very simple; we have decided not to go ahead with the deal.
“It’s unfortunate for the player – we’re obviously disappointed – but there’s nothing more to be said.
“We move onto other targets.”
So are we right to be interested in a player who seems to have made it clear on several occasions that he has no real desire to be a Newcastle player?
Remember the ill fated flight, which we paid for and QPR signed him?
Or how about, his hinting that he was ‘rested’ for the final game of the season?
No? How about him telling all and sundry he was only going to move to a champion’s league side?
Arsenal were supposed to be interested, then Spurs (no I missed their Champions league qualification as well) and finally Liverpool.
Only it appears to have turned out none of them actually wanted him, so is it back to plan Z and us?
Now you have to balance this out I suppose with the fact that the lad is a good player, and we need him, however it sticks in the throat somewhat, that if he comes it’s only because everything else appears to have fallen through.
So if he arrives, I will cheer his every goal, but I will never really like him, which is fine up to a point, it’s not like I will actually be drinking with him, but if there is a reasonable chance for anyone else, I would rather go with them.
After all I want people in black and white that want to be there, not those for whom their previous several million other options have fallen through.

We need a good striker...., him? Maybe not.
He doesn't have the right attitude - he has made it clear he doesn't seen Newcastle as the club for him (though I expect if it meant the only club prepared to pay him then he would take money over mind).
This heart defect his has hasn't stopped clubs signing him previously. It hasn't affected him previously.
But he isn't interested in playing for NUFC. He is interested in being paid - we would clearly be a last resort and that doesn't sit right for me.
IF we sign him, maybe there is a chance that he could move to a bigger club in january, does that mean that he will not play the last 2 weeks in december??
When will he fake a injurie next time, when his aunt have birthday?
He is a cheater, and allways will be. He will have to work REALLY hard for me to accept him.
In my oppinion, even though I will miss his goals, get someone else. He is WAY down on my list for a prefered striker, and it seems we are way down on his.
