Striker deal confirmed!

Newcastle United have confirmed the season long loan signing of Argentinean striker Facundo Ferreyra from Shakhtar Donetsk.

Ferreyra said: "I am very pleased to sign for Newcastle United.

"I like the Premier League and when I knew that Newcastle were interested in me, it was a very easy decision to make.

"I spoke to my friend Fabricio Coloccini, and when he told me about the Club, I didn't need to think twice."

Pardew then went on to say:

 "Facundo is someone we know on a number of levels, including his friendship with Fabricio (Coloccini), and we think he could be a big success here at Newcastle.

"This is a player who has played at the top level and is highly-regarded in Argentina.

"He has tremendous potential and hopefully he can realise that here at Newcastle United."

No fee has been mentioned but it is widely touted that an initial loan fee of 1.6 million has changed hands, with an option of around 6 million to make the deal permanent at the end of the season.

he's apparently quite physically strong which is something we need up front

At least it should end the remy rumours , great player but lack of respect for the club and fans in the way he went to qpr then only playing when he felt like it whilst on loan here
He reminds me of an elks for some reason , great skills but complete tool and cares only for himself
Good to see a kid who wants to play for us get a chance to make it in the premier league and wish him luck
