Recent loan signing Richie Wellens is hoping to banish some bad Town memories during his one month loan spell at the club.

The Leciester City midfielder had missed much of 2012 to date before joining the club on loan thanks to a serious knee injury but hopes in his short stint at Portman Road he can both prove his fitness and erase some bad memories from years gone by.

Speaking to the Official Club Website, Wellens said: “It’s good to have played and been out on a pitch again. I’ve had good memories of playing at Portman Road, I’ve had a few wins here over the years, but I’ve also got a few bad memories of playing here.

"I remember coming here a few years ago and playing in the snow, I should have brought my shovel! It wasn’t a great day for me as we lost the game, live on sky and then after a long trip home I got back to see my house had been burgled, so that wasn’t a great day!

“But I also know what a great stadium Portman Road is and I’m looking forward to playing here, getting some games and helping the side move up the table.”
