Jewell: Loans Not Ideal

Town boss Paul Jewell has admitted that having a large number of loanees at the club is less than ideal, but the situation dictates they are required.

Speaking to the Official Club Website, the former Derby County and Wigan Athletic boss said: “We’re not flush with millions of pounds to just go out and spend on whoever we want.

“We keep talking about this being a long term project, though I know that doesn’t wash with a lot people and I understand that. We’d like to go with younger, hungry players but until we can get a foothold in this division and move forward to a stronger position, we have to go with experience.”
