Keeper Henderson Set to Sign on Loan

West Ham United's Irish goalkeeper Stephen Henderson is reported to be close to signing for Town on a short term loan deal.

The 24 year old Dublin born glovesman has been unable to force his way into the first team reckoning at Upton Park since joining the club in May following a successful loan spel from crisis club Portsmouth and the prospect of first team football at Portman Road is something that the player is expected to jump at the chance of.

Should the move go ahead, it would almost certainly mean that current first choice keeper Scott Loach would be relegated to the substitute bench. The former Watford stopper had a poor game last time out against Cardiff and Town boss Paul Jewell seems not to have enough faith in second choice keeper Arran Lee-Barrett to make the step up.

Should Henderson sign on the dotted line for the Blues, he will become the eighth loan player on the books of the club this season.
