We preview Tuesday's game against Derby County in the Npower League Championship at Portman Road.

Ipswich Town go into this weekend's game occupying 23rd in the league after a disappointing start to the season and will be looking to turn their fortunes around against a Derby County side who sit just outside the top half, occupying 14th place in the standings.

Record Between the Teams
Town have history on their side going into Tuesday's game with an impressive record of 21 wins from 37 games between the two sides at Portman Road. Derby have notched up nine wins whilst 7 matches have been draws. Town have scored 63 goals whilst having conceded 41.

Town's biggest win against the Rams was the 4-0 victory in the home clash during the  1967/1968 season whilst the biggest defeat for Town was the 6-2 defeat, also at home to Derby in 1975/1976.

Form Guide
Derby County's recent away form has been above average. In the previous six games, the Rams have managed to claw eight points, scoring six and letting in seven goals on their travels.

Town's record at Portman Road this year has been simply very poor, with the club sitting in 22nd out of 24 teams in the home form table for the last six games having took just five points from them. It's not just at home where Town are struggling however, they are bottom of the overall form-table with two points from six and without a win in 10 games.

Connections: Paul Jewell
In November 2007 Jewell was unveiled as the manager of Premier League side Derby County who were at the time, regarded as one of the worst sides in the history of the Premier League. Jewell was unable to save the Rams from relegation, and failed to win a single game in the rest of the season as his side finished the season with just eleven points.

His first league win as Derby manager finally came after 10 months in charge in September 2008. Jewell resigned from his last job before taking charge of Town at the end of the 2008 calendar year with Derby in 18th place.
