Carlos Backing Hutchings

Town skipper Carlos Edwards admitted that whilst he was sad to see Paul Jewell leave the club he will be rallying the troops to support caretaker manager Chris Hutchings.

Jewell yesterday parted company with Town following a run of poor results that has left the club bottom of the Npower League Championship with former assistant Hutchings having been placed in temporary control of first team affairs until a new boss is appointed.

Speaking to the Official Club Website, Edwards expressed his sadness over the course of events that led to Jewell leaving the club: “It’s sad to see Paul leave because he’s a nice guy but unfortunately things haven’t quite worked out for us.

"But life goes on and the guys are just going to roll their sleeves up for Hutch now in preparation for the game against Sheffield Wednesday. We will give him all the support he needs and everybody is rallying together at this sad time. We are going out there to play for him and hopefully we can get a good result.”
