Edwards Keen to Make Amends

Town skipper Carlos Edwards says he is keen to make amends for last weekend's 6-0 defeat to Leicester City by winning Saturday's game against Peterborough.

Town go into the game in 22nd position still two points adrift of safety in the relegation zone whilst Peterborough occupy bottom spot in the Championship a further point back, making Saturday's game a real six pointer.

Speaking to the Official Club Programme, Skipper Edwards said: “It’s important we make amends for last Saturday’s defeat. It was unacceptable to lose in that manner and it’s a feeling that I and the rest of the guys don’t want to ever experience again.

“To lose any game as a professional is hard to take, but to concede six goals is even worse. It wasn’t just a loss but a setback too. Now we need to bounce back from that result as soon as possible, starting with Peterborough. 

"The bright side of things is that we have two home games coming up in quick succession and it gives us the opportunity to put things right and not dwell on the disappointment of the weekend.

"It’s important that we give the fans something to smile about too because their support has been fantastic.”
