Boss Set to Shop in January Sales

Ipswich Town boss Mick McCarthy admits that he expects a busy January to be ahead of him as he strives to improve the playing squad at Portman Road.

The former Millwall, Republic of Ireland, Sunderland and Wolverhampton Wanderers boss has made no secret that he would like to add striker DJ Campbell to his ranks on a full time basis during the month but Town fans should brace themselves for just more than one new face strutting their stuff in the blue and white of the club.

Speaking to the Official Club Website in relation to his plans for the transfer market, The Barnsley born supremo admitted: "I’m hoping it will be a busy January and I’m certainly looking to get some reinforcements in.

"The lads we’ve got here are great and have done very well recently but I think we need more to sustain our league position.

“We’ve got a few lads coming to the end of their loan deals, with DJ having gone back to QPR. I’d like to keep DJ and I’ll be speaking to Harry but, at the same time, he’s a QPR player so any deal will be down to them first and foremost.”
