McLean Second Striker of Day to Sign

Town have signed their second striker of the day, with Aaron McLean of Hull City joining the ranks at Portman Road until the end of the season on loan 

The news of signing the former Leyton Orient trainee who will wear the number 25 shift at Portman Road follows hot on the heels of the revelation that Town have also completed the signing of Nottingham Forest forward David McGoldrick who has also signed on loan until May.

The former England C international striker has had a lean time of things of late in the goalscoring stakes, having only managed to net 12 goals in the 80 games he has played for Hull since joining the club on New Years Day in 2011.

The London born marksman started his career as a trainee at Leyton Orient, but found goals tough to come by in his early career, managing to net just two goals in his 40 games fot the club.

Following a loan spell at non-league Grays Athletic, the 5ft7in player joined Aldershot in 2003 before moving back to former loan club Grays in 2005. It was here that McLean attracted the attention of Peterborough United, and following a successful loan spell he signed for The Posh on a full deal in 2007.

McLean enjoyed the best spell of his career at London Road, scoring 67 times in 148 league games before handing in a transfer request which was granted, allowing the player to move on to Hull.
