Striker Linked with Departure

Reports have claimed over the past 24 hours that Town striker Jason Scotland could be set to leave the club with two fellow Championship clubs said to be interested in securing the services of the former Swansea man.

According to several reports, both in the media and online, Wolverhampton Wanderers and Brighton and Hove Albion are the front runners to land the Trinidad and Tobago forward who has managed to appear in just one game since the appointment of Town boss Mick McCarthy.

Scotland is considered to have dropped several places down the pecking order at Portman Road following the arrival of Aaron Mclean and David McGoldrick on loan until the end of the season this month, with Frank Nouble also signing for the club, and with Scotland turning 34 next month it's likely a move that provides him with first team football will be attractive in the final years of his career.

Meanwhile Nathan Ellington could also move on during the January transfer window, Ellington was already well out of the first team picture before the signing of three new strikers since the turn of the year and was allowed to go out on an unsuccessful loan spell at Scunthorpe. It's hard to see how Ellington would even manage a place on the bench for Town and it would be no surprise if the player left or even had his contract settled this month.
