Smith: Great Result Against Cardiff

Town defender Tommy Smith has spoke of his delight at his side getting a point in this afternoon's 1-1 draw against Cardiff. Town were fhe first side to stop Cardiff from scoring for 25 games.

“It was a bit scrappy at times but taking a point from Cardiff is a great result for us." the full New Zealand international centre back told the Official Club Website after the game.

“The wet conditions made it great for a defender and you could really get stuck in. It made the pitch slick and I think both teams tried to get a passing game going.

“I think it was a fairly even game overall and probably a fair result but we’ve had chances to nick it. Obviously Gi (Guirane N’Daw) has hit the bar and Frank (Nouble) was unlucky not to score right at the end.

“That would have been great if it had gone in but coming to Cardiff and taking a point is a result we have to be pleased with.”
