Blue Pinks 29 Llanelli 24
Try Scorer

After a disastrous start to the Championship we have a small crumb of comfort in topping our group in the British and Irish Cup thanks to an entertaining 29-24 victory over Llanelli ..
We also managed to score five tries and the scrum looked much more solid against a decent Welsh side.
The game will however, be remembered for the side playing in two different coloured strips after it was decided at half time that our pink celebration of Ladies Day clashed with the red of Llanelli. No it didn't.
Charlie Clare went over from close range for the first with James Pritchard landing the conversion.
Mark Atkinson sent in Ollide Dodge for the second, but the visitors came back with a try from Aarion Warren and we had Pritcvhard and Fox both in the bin either side of half time.
We held out heroically and even managed a try from Michael Le Bourgeois and the then the bonus point courtesy of Mike Howard. The fifth try came from Nev Edwards.
Pool Three sees each team with one win but we are top thanks to that bonus point. All to play for as they say.

Lineouts and scrums were so much better on Saturday, but checkout the highlights for Clare winning the ball on the ground (2.50) before Edwards try.
"Forwards decide who wins. Backs by how much."
I think strip change happened because of mistaken identities, but then I was a long way from the action.
The boys held out well 13 v 15 and even scored!
Interestingly (and I think I'm right in saying this), we haven't lost to a Welsh team since January 2000 when Newport beat us 44-19 in the European Shield.
Let's hope though, that the boys' tackling improves this week and that they keep their discipline. Further afield, let's see if we can go to Parc y Scarlets and get a win to further improve our reputation as the best part-time club in England.
COME ON YOU BLUES!
