A Win At Last

Atkinson Try Scorer
By Blues Ed

We would have settled for a one point win at Brickfields but a 27-16 victory must surely result in a new confidence and better results to come ..

Three tries from  James Short, Mark Atkinson and Patrick Tapley secured the points which was built on a much improved all round perfomance. Le Booj took over the kicking duties and converted all three and added two pens for good measure.

There was also an excellent debut for dual registered Matt Hankin was was useful in the line-out and often rampant with ball in hand.

The Blues slugged it out in the first half but came into their own in the second with Short chasing diown his own grubber kick to score followed by an interception by Atkinson who embarassed the home side by going in under the posts.

Tapley added the third ten minutes from time after concerted pressure on the home line.

A timely win with leaders London Welsh arriving next weekend.
