Mike Rayer must be desperate for a bit of good luck. A try just minutes from the end secured an unlikely 19-15 win for London Scottish after we had done enough to end our losing run ..
We'd gone into a ten point lead after weathering early Scottish pressure. Pritchard stroked over a pen before Pat Tapley was first to a clearing kick and he raced in with Pritchard adding the extras.
Scottihs got back in the game after stealing our line-out ball, but we restored our lead within minutes when Brendan Burke went over in the corner after evading some desperate defence.
But that was the end of our scoring. Instead, Scottish rumbled their way over to make it 15-12 and then came that sickening match winnerwhen Bright scrambled over in the corner and Millar added the conversion.
It was the first time Scottish had been in the lead and they weren't going to throw it away as the clock ticked down.

The blues played very well. I was really encouraged. We lost on our set pieces, what was going on at the line-out?
The boys hit all their tackles, great commitment all-round, the pressures on the blues try line in the 2nd half were incredible - fantastic blues defending.

On the whole we defended well, LS had a very good rolling maul we couldn't keep out though, and that was the main difference. I have rarely seen us drop more balls at critical moments, we'd make a good break, pass the ball and it'd be dropped. The lineout went missing again, scrum was pretty solid and competed well, and we looked better going forward than LS, made more linebreaks but couldn't finish them off.

This comment just highlights your ignorance, of course you can take positives from a defeat, I'm not going to bother explaining this as I'd be wasting my time.

I find some comments on this forum terribly disheartening. When performances are bad then criticism can be fair and just, but when you watch a performance such as the one on Sunday when the lads gave it there all and then come on here to see comments such as Luton_Blue's you are left wondering sometimes.
Here's an idea LB - it is club night on a Thursday, why not nip along and tell the players face to face where they are going wrong. While you're at it, Mike Rayer and the coaches will also be there and I'm sure they'd appreciate your words of wisdom.

When performances are bad then criticism can be fair and just, but when you watch a performance such as the one on Sunday when the lads gave it there all and then come on here to see comments such as Luton_Blue's you are left wondering sometimes.

ps I know how the players react to a defeat, probably better than you guys! Having coached at the club for a few years during thr Jackson era - they don't dress it up or look through the rosé tinted like you guys do! A defeat is a defeat!

are you the 'jolly good show, played extremely well' crew? In which case in your eyes we've had an excellent season, and you've had value for money from your admission price and it would be fruitless of me arguing with you because in your eyes, we could never lose! Even in defeat!
I reserve my right to be disheartening and critical and I would hope anybody connected with the club would accept that.
Given our last few seasons, we would have expected a level of performance this year - our league position says differently.
