It is probably fair to say that the B&I cup is not proving to be Mike Rayer's favourite competition.
We have played three and now we have lost three after Doncaster's first half try fest which saw them win 35-20.
The fact we were awarded the points against Pirates - because they played a back in the front row in the closing stages - does not hide the fact we are not doing very well in this competition.
To add to our woes Le Booj and Currie both suffered serious injuries in Yorkshire.

I think this season is going the way of the last two and some point we need to be asking when does it stop? The excuses are wearing a bit thin now and we've heard them all before!
Well ok, I concede but we haven't played well & consistently for nearly a year, something has to give! There seems to be no signs of improvement just occasional periods of playing well
If you're satisfied with this then so be it but personally I see another season wasted and more struggles
Yes but it's the same problems week in week out. Silly pre-match videos saying we're going to sort out discipline, stop giving away too many silly penalties etc...etc..., yawn yawn, heard it all before.
I was at Doncaster on Saturday and we were simply out played,out thought and out muscled all over the pitch. The sad thing is no disrespect, but Doncaster aren't even a good side.
The fact is most of our players are leauge 1 standard and as long as we stay a part time club competing in a full time league we're going to struggle.
It's been said before but teams in our league have moved on over the last two years we've gone backwards and become very predictable and easy to beat. I hope we stay up this year but it's going to be difficult.
I wasn't at Doncaster but I can't disagree with most of what you say, iron blue.
However, you have to remember that we have had a huge turnaround in players and it's going to take time for them to start playing as a team - particularly as they only train part-time.
Despite protestations to the contrary, I don't think we take the B&I Cup very seriously. The League is the priority - and staying up in the Championship - which I am confident we will do.
We have had a lot of players sign in the close season but unfortunatley most of them just arn't good enough for this league.
On the way home on Saturday a few people asked about the 5 or 6 Sarries players that we've got on DR and why we don't make more use of them. Especially as it appears the B&I cup is a compettion we don't take very seriously
Three consecutive losses (including Pirates) and ,previously, two narrow wins does not really give much confidence for the remainder of the season. I do not think that reality has set in for the management of the club. Mike Rayer can only utilise the players available to him. Can't believe the nonsense rumours about the playing budget being much larger than others.
Maybe we are looking to establish our level. In league 1 1200-1500 crowds and reduction in player and management costs would make the Blues self sufficient. Food for thought.
PPB - I don't always agree with what you say but I do on occasion. In relation to DR players, which IMO is of no use unless it's a season long loan. We need to be self sufficient with our playing squad and less reliant on DR players. I hope that the 'Future Survey' will confirm the vision with links with other local clubs, with a centre of excellence and improved facilities being the primary focus.
We are self sufficient with our squad and they are bonus players!! We've been able to field a squad every match without needing to have an academy player included on the bench.
blueherts We seem to have more than our fair share of doom and gloom merchants - it's a pity there's no cup for that.
It would be a real change to say something positive, but I'm at a loss with things as they are at the moment. At least Nos still does a good pork roll and serves the best chips.
