Getting back to league rugby this Friday will be a welcome relief after the travails of the B&I cup. Yorkshire Carnegie are the visitors - a side with an identical record to ours.
Both sides have won two and lost four and are sitting on 11 points.
A bonus point win would come in very nicely and Mike Rayer will be hoping the players who didn't figure in the 42-12 cup defeat at Worcester will be back.
It will be our first home game in a month and it is a vital one. At Sixways we brought on Peter White, Darrell Dyer and Nick Fenton-Wells late in the game and it led to an excellent late try when Adamson raced away in the final moments.
We need to start like that on Friday.

Until we start playing for 80+ minutes in every game and stop handing our opponents 10 - 20 points in the first quarter I'm afraid that we shall forever be playing catch-up.
I am surprised that Leeds are having such a poor season having thought them to be one of the top four teams for the end of season play-off's. Given Leeds current status I hope that Bedford can drag some sort of victory out of Friday's game.
With our young and inexperienced squad (+ or - DR players) this might just be one of the limited number of 'winnable' games that come our way this season.
Recent history shows that five or six wins and 25 - 30 points will keep us in the Championship.

I had the misfortune of watching Carnegie last Friday as a northern exile. To say they were dire is being kind to them. A decent pack in the tight were undone by very slow distribution from half back and a lack of commitment to the breakdown. The consensus of the Carnegie fans was that the team seem to be getting worse by the game. If Carnegie play in the same way you have a nailed on victory!

We need to get these two cup games out the way and turn it on in front of a big crowd on boxing day and blow Bristol off the park. COYB!
