Bring Out The Cliches

It's been a long hard season and to keep the cliches going it's been a rollercoaster journey and a season of two halves.

And here's another - the league table doesnt lie.

So at the moment we are the third worst team in the Greene King IPA Championship, and for our last home game we welcome the fifth best in our old rivals Nottingham.

Realistically neither side has anything to play for - expect for some bragging rights. Although a five pointer for us could put us a couple of places in the final table if Jersey and Doncaster Knights dont get anything.

Mike Rayer has already begun building a side for next season and let's hope he has a very fruitful summer.

He makes a number of changes from the team that played Doncaster. Ollie Dodge is in the centre and Darryl Veenendaal makes his 150th appearance  at scrum half. TJ Harris and Phil Boulton start in the front row.

Blues: 15. Steffan Jones 14. Pat Tapley 13. Mike Le Bourgeois 12. Ollie Dodge 11. Dean Adamson 10. Jake Sharp 9. Darryl Veenendaal 1. Camilo Parilli-Ocampo
2. TJ Harris 3. Phil Boulton 4. Mike Howard 5. Harry Wells 6. Hayden Thompson-Stringer 7. Josh Buggea 8. Nick Fenton-Wells (c)

Reps: Charlie Clare, Tom Williams,  Paul Tupai, Matt Hankin, Luke Baldwin, Baden Kerr, Henry Staff

I was wrong about TJ and Darryl not turning out v Nottingham. First time for everything.

Hi GS could you also be wrong about TJ joining Nottingham? I only ask because there was a piece on him in the T&C last night and it didn't seem like he was going anywhere.

Hopefully we've got both TJ and Darryl. Think TJ has really stepped up this season when given the opportunity. Think he's also very good with ball in hand.

Do you remember when the Blues were in the top 14 teams in England?

TJ should go and play in a lower league until he can hit a barn door at line-out time.

If it is right that 3 of that lot are off to Notts then at least we will know who we will be fighting for relegation next year. The only positive from yesterday was that we seem to have a couple of good wingers.

Pleased to be paying for Toops pension next year - maybe he will be able to watch the soaps knowing that he has money in his pocket
