The Blues are rattling out the positives as season 2014-15 ends on another flat note with a home defeat to a decent Nottingham outfit in front of a big crowd at Goldington Road ..
Another eight names are nailed on for next season including Wasps Academy hooker Sam James.
The others who will be joining 20 others for a (hopefully) productive pre-season are Phil Boulton, Camilo Parilli-Ocampo and James Currie, Mike Howard, Justin Blanchet, and Ollie Dodge and Henry Staff.
We certainly need new blood if we are to get back to challenging at the top of the Championship. Those games against the Falcons seem a very long time ago.
Hopes of a grand finale ended with the 26-17 defeat . Nottingham led 15-3 at the interval, and despite a fightback with two tries from Pat Tapley we gave away any initiative by conceding too many penalties.

Maybe these players are living within there comfort zones? I mean for most of them the only move would be a downward one.
I am convinced we sign players because of our proximity to london and Cambridge, the places where these pro-ams live or work. Now this could be seen as a good thing or a bad thing.
Also signing players on loan from wasps or saracens when they know they have the safety net of a return to their mother club is not a great thing in my opinion.
Bedford has for a long time attracted rugby mercenaries too, after one last regular pay day.
I'd like to see us utilise our academy, pick up players from local junior clubs - not just get players who'll spend a season with us and leave to go somewhere else (to sit on a bench)
We really need to bring back the passion, the playing for the badge and if that means a change at the top so be it! Seen precious little passion this season for sure, we've lost too many games through a can't be arsed attitude! I wonder if the players even get beastings like they did during the Jackson era? Jackson had a ethic of if you don't turn up to training, you don't turn up to play! That turning up was putting real effort in rather just throwing a few pretty balls around!
