The biting cold wind took much of the glamour out of Ladies Day at Goldington Road, but there was plenty of rugby to keep more than 2,000 of us entertained.
In the end the difference between the Blues and Ulster 'A' was with the goalkicking as Jake Sharp was on form to see us through 27-18.
We got some great tries with Burns making a superb break after twenty minutes which saw Piers O'Conor finish .
Ulster were a strong outfit and came back to lead 12-10 until just before the break when we got our second try.
This time it was Lundberg who made a scintillating break to send Conlon away, and he fed with Pritchard who put Burns in to score and 17-12 to us at the break.
Penalties produced a scoreline of 20-18 to Blues before the next try. Sharp kicked over the top and into space with Jones hacking on touch down with Sharp slotting again.
If winning is a habit we have it.

Who's kicking in the photo?
It looks a lot like Jake Sharp but as he is a Bedford player and has been for a number of seasons it can't be him . . . . . Either that or the photos update as reguraly as the updates on players fitness do!!

And just a point on ladies day - it should be held when the sun is shining not on a freezing November day - summer dresses are so much prettier than winter coats.
Isn't the Club considering its supporters by maximising revenue?
It all helps to stop ticket prices having to rise - very much in the interest of us all.
I should have been clear, I was agreeing with the summer dresses v winter coats. I believe the club needs to do everything it can to maximise revenue. Making sure they don't run out of beer in the scrum bar would be a start.
