Back to Championship Action

It's back to Greene King IPA Championship action  for the first time in 2016 with the visit of under achievers London Welsh ..

Many fancied Welsh to be battling it our for promotion with Bristol, but despite still having lots of Premiership players the exiles have not set the league on fire.

They arrive in eighth place with 14 league points less than the Blues.

However, nobody expects this game to be an easy ride for a home side  which is doing very well in all competitions, and seemingly laying down the foundations for a bright future.

Jake Sharp plays his 150th game for the club and will be the playmaker for a side which is just about as stromg as we can field.

Blues: 15. Piers O’Conor 14. Pat Tapley 13. Michael LeBourgeois 12. Tom Griffiths 11. George Perkins 10. Jake Sharp 9. Jordan Burns 1. Tom Williams
2. Charlie Clare 3. Phil Boulton 4. Harry Wells 5. Mark Flanagan 6. Justin Blanchet 7. Josh Buggea 8. Nick Fenton-Wells (c)

Reps:  Sam James, Camilo Parilli-Ocampo,  Paul Tupai,  Biyi Alo,  Pete White, Myles Dorrian, Henry Staff

In the abscence of Conlon would have liked to have seen Thompson-Stringer or Toops at 8 (NFW has been brilliant at Flanker so why move him). Going to be an intersting game. Our wingers need to tackle tomorrow against a strong and quick welsh back line.
