A trip to the Channel Islands is always a pleasure - even more so if your rugby team pulls off an unexpected win.
After last week's opening let down the Blues need to get back on track - that won't be an easy task against an ambitious side who won their opener at new boys Richmond by 41 points to 16.
Hopefully the long trip will give the Blues players a chance to focus on the game. Not surprisingly there are a number of changes with Matt Gallagher, Tom Farrell and Myles Dorrian all in the backs.
In the pack Hayden Thompson-Stringer, Dave Spelman and Ed Taylor all start with Jason Hill continuing in place of the injured Justin Blanchet.

Well it's certainly quite in 'the pond' is this because we are all recovering from the last game or are we on our prayer mats offering up our prayers for a win against Jersey.....and Irish.....
The Blues always play better against teams which we consider are better than us and play badly against teams which we feel are easy.....see my previous posting on that theme....
Regretfully I have just receive orders for another 'overseas posting' so will be missing from 'the pond'.....so much for the saving I was hoping to make on buying a season ticket...... now where is the 'mozzie repellant'.........
Positives, well Jersey have a nice covered terrace for their supporters and they make very good pasties. As for the game, well there wasn't any leadership, there certainly wasn't any passion, our line out was shocking, there was no plan B and I'm not even sure we had a plan A. You have to be honest, on the evidence of the first two games we're going to struggle this season and you have to question some of the recruitment.
Well. At least the Blues were 'up for it' this week. Better than the display against pirates. Thought generally that the forwards performed well. Buggea awesome as usual. Shame we fell for Jersey standing off at the penultimate (I think) lineout. Why did we kick so much ball away? Kick and chase seemed to be the main tactic from the backs. Should have won it!

With Autumn already with us and winter just around the corner 'the pond' starts to discuss the subject of the 'legendary covered terrace'......
My question is why did we spend a fortune on the old members bar (Jack Pope Bar) supposedly to impress visiting officials and fans
.......when the Blues supporters will have to spend another winter in the open?
