Welcome Break
Mike Rayer

Once upon a time a winter weekend without a Blues game was a frustration - this season it's a blessed relief ...
The demise of poor London Welsh, plus failure in the other competitions, means Blues supporters have little interest in this season other than in seeing how Mike Rayer and Co. are preparing to put things right for next season.
Losing Le Booj to a six week ban, followed by the humiliating 49-26 defeat at bottom club Richmond, has created a cloud over Goldington Road.
It would be great to think that the corner can be turned in the next league game but that's away at Rotherham a week on Saturday. It will be interesting to see how mahy Blues supporters make that journey up the A1. Not many, one suspects.

Certainly not, until I see some leadership on and off the field I won't be doing any travelling to away games. The end of this season can't come soon enough, then we need the Alan Sugar finger to a few and some new blood, fresh ideas and proper leadership.

I'll be at Rotherham but then I live in N Yorks so this is one of my three guaranteed 'home games' that I try to get to. The Richmond game sounds like a shambles. Let's hope the performance against Rotherham will be an improvement. Of the three games I've seen up here this season - Leeds x2 and Doncaster - we've battled hard and been the oppo's equal for at least 70 mins. A poor ten after halftime did for us in the cup game against Leeds, as did a couple of quick scores when we played them in the league (my memory is hazy as I'd had an afternoon on the beer) whilst I thought a draw wouldve been the fair outcome at Doncaster and we we're beaten by a try involving the most blatant bit of blocking in midfield that I've ever seen. If there's one thing I've witnessed when watching us play Doncaster is that they like a good blocking line in the midfield.

£24 at Bedford unless you book on line, then it's £20. Do they offer a saving for on line bookings? worth checking.

That is on line. £54 including the kids and my OAP father. The beer and the pies better be nice.

Yep beer and food always good. Hope it's worth it.

Whiteley at 9. The £54 is looking increasingly like poor value for money.

mellsblue - is it still poor value?
JW, any coach would and should be expected to make changes to line up after being thumped by bottom side in division. I'd be complaining if there weren't any!
But anyway, well done Blues for not just winning, but also getting bonus point at Rotherham away, the double done over them. Here's hoping we can finally beat Trailfinders next week - come mighty close twice this season and would be great to keep them waiting for a win at Goldington Road a little longer

Gingerblueboy - yep, but stick with this team and see how they do next Saturday. Very good win away from home, not an easy place to go and get the win. Well done!

Haha. It was definately worth the money. Even Whiteley played well!! Great performance by the team. Everyone played brilliantly. I hope we can keep hold of the Saints lock whose name I can't spell.

I'm glad it was Mellsblue. Maybe a tie up with the Saints is the future, along with our full time squad from next season. Well you never know

Best performance of the season so far i.m.o.
Dorian great at 10. Kicking, distribution and captaincy excellent.
Also, generally, great in defence. Tackled anything that came down his channel.
Tapley excellent in defence and assists.
Hill terrific as usual until off after injury.
Liked the new 4 and 5 combination. Blues should persevere with that.
Shame we will probably lose O'Coner.
I think we also, sometimes, undervalue Ollie Dodge's contribution to the team.
BTW. Thought Clement Hill had his best game. Very solid on high ball.
Bit of a ramble I know but just how I saw it.
Well done Blues

Looking at it some very good tries but the tackling from both sides at times looked at best, average!
Ben Adams try looked superb for a forward. Not since Jason Forster have I seen a forward side step past a back quite like that.
