It's a strange start to a rugby season but let's enjoy it. Fair to say that Championship clubs may be relishing the prospect of the new Premiership Cup more than the top tier sides. Regardless, it's a great idea and hopefully one which will give professional rugby a shot in the arm.

Blues head to Sale Sharks (Ssaturday 5.30 )hoping for one of the giant killings against a club which has half a dozen of its stars away on World Cup duty.

Blues enjoyed pre-season, but real competition will give a better idea of how the leaguee season might unfold and there's four changes from the side which took on Saints - including the return of Michael Le Bourgeois in the centre.

Sale do have some 1st teamers but also a lot of young players. If we travel well we have a chance.

A honest review of the game would be interesting.
The score line suggests that we were on the wrong end of a drubbing. Why was Onojaife’s late withdrawal met with a prop as a replacement?

Looking at the twitter feed it looked more like mistakes by us as we threaten and them turning it over and running down the pitch to score. That appeared to happen a few times.

It seemed we lacked a cutting edge which isn’t a surprise against Sale which will always be a physcial team.
