Consortium wants Blue Sox as well!

A consortium consisting of two Irishmen and an Englishman were today meeting with administrator Peter O'Hara.

Not only do they want control of the Shaymen, but they are also interested in taking control of the Halifax Blue Sox who share the Shay stadium with the football club. It does not finish there, because they also want ultimate control over the Shay stadium.

O'Hara though wants the businessmen to focus on saving the Shaymen as a primary concern by asking the consortium to pay £50,000 to the club just to see them through to the end of the summer. Obviously with no games being played, the club income is sparse through the summer months.

The consortium has an available 8 million to invest if it all works out and it seems their main aims are to sort out the East stand farce which has been a growing concern now for over a year. They have identified the fact that once finished, the stand has the potential to bring £400,000 in a year.

Obviously the fans of both clubs will react to this news in a unsure manner.

Why would a consortium want to buy two financially disastrous clubs?

What are the intentions of the consortium?

Are they willing to put money into turning both clubs into winning teams?

It is hard not to get excited at the prospect of a multi-millionaire consortium taking over the clubs, but it is a concern about their intentions. Are they just after making money from the stadium, or do they really want success for both professional sporting clubs in Halifax?
