Bruce On Town Switch

New Town defender Alex Bruce says moving to Town was an easy decision to make and he’s looking forward to the challenge.

The 21-year-old will sign a three year contract at Town later today after passing a medical at Portman Road yesterday.

 

Alex said: “I know the standing Ipswich has in the game and looking at the training ground facilities and the stadium, it's top class.

 

“The manager's enthusiasm for the Club and the future here is very obvious so it was an easy decision to make.

 

“I've come here to help get Ipswich back in the Premiership where a club of this statue certainly belongs. Jim Magilton has big plans for the Club, exciting plans and I'm delighted to be part of it.

 

“The fact that my dad was the manager at Birmingham did get in the way, my team-mates and the supporters were fantastic but I had a hard time from the press and I felt that much of that was down to the fact that my dad was manager.

 

“I feel free of that burden now. I was at Birmingham for nearly two years and that cloud always seemed to be hanging over me. Now I'm relishing the challenge of playing for Ipswich.”
