According to one of this morning’s tabloids a quartet of Crystal Palace players are of interest to Town manager Jim Magilton
Town have reportedly made enquire for Jon Macken, Dougie Freedman, Michael Hughes and Gary Borrowdale.
The 32-year-old striker Freedman is currently in his second spell at Palace after rejoining the club in 2001 after spells at Wolves and
35-year-old Midfielder Michael Hughes was one of the hottest properties in football in the early 90’s but rather then move to bigger club then Manchester City in England he opted for a move to French side Strasbourg in 1992, he spent two years in France before moving to West Ham on-loan in 1994 and eventually joined the hammers on a permanent deal in the summer of 1996. He joined Wimbledon in 1997 for £1.7million and left a free agent following a contract dispute between The Dons and Birmingham City which resulted in him missing a year of football, he then joined Palace 2003 and has gone on to make over 100 appearances scoring 9 goals.
Borrowdale is a 21-year-old defender who has come through that Crystal Palace academy, he made his debut for Palace as a 17 year old in 2002 and has gone on to make 88 appearances for the senior side at Selhurst Park.
Jim has confirmed his interest in striker Jon Macken but that seems to be going nowhere.
