Shane Exit Rubbished

Reports of Town goalkeeper Shane Supple leaving Portman road have been rubbished by the player and the manager.

Shane was left out of Town’s squad to face Peterborough last night due to a wrist injury, but one newspaper speculated it was because he was about to leave the club.

Shane: “It's a load of rubbish. I hurt my wrist in training on Monday and it was always going to be a risk being involved.

“The physio staff and manager decided I might aggravate it if I played so decided not to take that risk.

“I'm obviously disappointed not to have played against Hull, just as Lewis was when he was on the bench.

“You need competition for places in every position and I've got to work hard and try and win my place back. That's all I am concerned with.”

Town boss Jim Magilton added: “Shane has a wrist injury and we weren't happy with him being involved against Peterborough in case he aggravated it. It's as simple as that.”
