Burley Not Bitter

Former Town manager George Burley is not bitter following his Southampton sides 2-1 defeat against Town earlier today.

Southampton had two goals ruled out and a third possibly which may have crossed the line as well as seeing Town awarded a penalty, but despite all that Burley is not bitter about the result.

Burley: “I was delighted with the commitment shown by my players, we were very effective down the right-hand side during the early stages of the first- half but we need to be more ruthless.

“I thought the penalty against us was a soft one and I'm told that the ball crossed their line late in the game but that's football.

“We hit the woodwork twice and really nothing went our way but on another day it will be totally the opposite.

“Credit to Ipswich, they kept going and took their chances - good luck to them.”
