Jim Hails Johnno

Town manager Jim Magilton has paid tribute to former Town striker David Johnson who has been forced to retire from football with a back injury.

The 30-year-old striker had been saying last week that he was going to keep working on getting fit but after speaking to specialists about his back injury he has decided to call it a day, something Jim says is a shame.

 

Jim: “It's a real shame for Johnno that he's had to call it a day, he's a terrific guy and it was great to see him again at Portman Road for Bam Bam's game.

 

“He was a wonderful servant to Ipswich Town, had a fantastic goals record here and played a big part in the Club reaching the Premiership.”
