Jason Backing For PFA

Town captain Jason De Vos says more young players should use the PFA when negotiating contracts with clubs.
Jason says: “There are some excellent agents out there but there is a lot of dross as well, parasites who just want to make a lot of money for themselves, money that is disappearing out of the game.
“I'd love to see the day when agents are not needed in the game but whether that will ever happen remains to be seen.
“You do need professional expertise though when talking about contracts and I think the PFA can play a big role in getting involved with young players in particular.
“The PFA do a fantastic job and have everything at their disposal that you need when signing a new contract or moving to a new club.
“They have the legal expertise and also have access to every club. They know the wage structure, the financial resources and what makes a good deal for a player.
“They charge a very basic fee to the player for their services from what I understand and that money is then reinvested into the game rather than disappearing out of it.
“I am more than happy with the service my own agent provides which goes beyond football but for any young player who wants sound representation on football matters alone, I don't think you can beat the PFA.”
