Wilnis Feeling Punished

Town defender Fabian Wilnis feels he is being punished for his honesty after pulling out of Town’s game against Birmingham two weeks ago.

Wilnis asked to be withdrawn from the squad for the game at St Andrews after feeling a “twinge” in his hamstring before the game and he feels he is now being punished for his honesty after being left out of the match for Town’s game against Colchester and missing out on the starting 11 against Sunderland.

 

“I pulled out of the match at Birmingham because I felt a twinge in my thigh in the warm-up, I felt it was the right thing to do for the team and for the fans.

 

“If I had come off after a short while, it would have used up a substitute, and I could have worsened the damage and been out for six weeks.

 

“I stand by my decision, and it was disappointing not to be back in the side against Sunderland.

 

“I am fully fit and I feel I am being punished for my honesty.”
