Bruce To Keep Tackling

Town defender Alex Bruce says he will keep on tackling the way he does despite picking up seven yellow cards so far this season.

Bruce has already served a one match ban for picking up five yellow cards and three more yellow’s will see him banned for two games.

Mark Noble is banned for the game against Luton after picking up 5 yellows while Simon Walton is one card away from a one match ban after picking up four cards.

Alex: “There maybe something in the fact that the three of us are new to the Club and there is an extra desire to make an immediate impression. Maybe the manager wanted to bring in a bit of bite as well, I'm frustrated about the bookings, I'm certainly not proud of the record but I do think that I have been unlucky with some of the decisions.

“At Southend, there were mis-timed tackles going in all over the park that were the same as the one I made yet I got a yellow card and most of the other challenges went unpunished.

“As a defender you are always at risk from timing challenges wrong and it's something I have got to be aware of now because I seem to be getting penalised all the time.

“I think I might have made a rod for my own back now as well with the number of cards and the referees looking out for me and that's something I have got to be aware of.

“I'm not going to change my game though. If I take that edge away from my game, I will not be the same player.”

Towns entire count of cards breaks down like this: Alex Bruce has 7 yellows, Gavin Williams has 5 yellows, Mark Noble has 5, Simon Walton has 4, Daniel Harding has 3, Sito has 2, Naylor has 2, Legwinski has 2 and Fabian Wilnis, Jason De Vos, Darren Currie, Alan Lee, Danny Haynes and Jon Macken all have 1.
