Preview: PAFC - Town

STB brings you team news, manager and betting odds ahead of Towns game against Plymouth on tonight (KO 7:45pm).

Plymouth are likely to re-call Barry Hayles to the squad after he completed a suspension, Lee Hodges is fit again but won’t be involved as Ian Holloway wants to give him time to fully recover from a knee injury, Hasney Aljofree is on compassionate leave.

 

Plymouth boss Ian Holloway: "There was not a lot wrong, so there is not a lot that needs fixing, we have got a big challenge coming up and we have got to keep going, and be consistent.

 

“Confidence is something that you have to earn and it takes a while to build it, once it is there, it normally stays for a while but, in this game, it looks like you have cracked it and then you can't win for love or money.”

 

Town could be without Jason De Vos who is suffering with a dead leg, Gavin Williams and Owen Garvan are still absent as is Jon Macken.

 

Town squad: Bruce, Clarke, Currie, De Vos, Drobny, Harding, Haynes, Lee, Legwinski, Naylor, Noble, Peters, Richards, Roberts, Supple, Walton, Wilnis.

 

Town manager Jim Magilton: “Ian may act the clown but he has a serious edge and he has experience at this level. His players want to do well for him and that is important.

 

“Ian has an entertainment value of 11 out of 10 so I'm delighted he is back in the game.

 

“Plymouth are doing well and like all Ian Holloway teams they are very fit, play at a high tempo and he is getting his just rewards.

 

“They are scoring plenty of goals and had a great win at Palace on Saturday.

 

“They are a good side at home and are playing with confidence. Home Park is not a place many clubs go to with relish. As a player I enjoyed going there because the crowd is very vociferous and generate a great atmosphere.

 

“I have mixed results there with a win and a loss but a Tuesday night game there is something I would enjoy and I'm sure the lads will, although Plymouth make it difficult.

 

“We have not had time to gloat. It was lovely but it was still just three points. It was another step in the right direction playing well in parts and scoring good goals.

 

“We have no time to sit back and think how great we are because we know we can be brought down to earth with a bump. It is important then to go to Plymouth and concentrate on keeping the standards.”
